Insert Menu

Insert Menu
 
We use these menu items to add in supported entity's to the dwg.
1

Point

1. Point  Left click on the screen and a point entity is added to the dwg. For points with data use the point (attributes) insert menu item.

Text

2. Text  To add text into the dwg. Follow link for more details.

Line

3. Line  To add in a single line segment.
4

PolyLine

4. PolyLine  To add in multi-segment line. Line can include dwg bulges (arcs).

Arc

5. Arc  Insert an arc, both 3 points and center, 1st point, 2nd point and direction.

Circle

6. Circle Insert a circle.

Table

7. Table Not yet implemented.

Hatch

8. Hatch  Not yet implemented.

Block (from dwg file)

9. Block (from dwg file)  Inserts a whole dwg file into the block table. Designed for simple dwg's to be used as symbols.

Block Reference

10. Block Reference  The block needs to be already inserted into the block table. This draws a copy of this block at appropriate scale and rotation.

Border (Paper Space only)

11. Border (Paper Space only)  Add in a border to appropriate layout/paper space view. See print tutorial for an example.

Short Line Table

12. Short Line Table  Inserts an empty short line table into the dwg.

Add to Short Line Table

13. Add to Short Line Table  Select an appropriate piece of text and it is added into the short line table, and reference text added onto the line. This option only works when dwg has been created by CDS or a LandXML file has been imported.

Short Arc Table

14. Short Arc Table  Inserts an empty short line table into the dwg.

15. Add to Short Arc Table  Select an appropriate piece of text and it is added into the short arc table, and reference text added onto the line. This option only works when dwg has been created by CDS or a LandXML file has been imported.

Point (Attributes)

16. Point (Attributes)  This is a point that has specific attributes associated with it such as point number, code, description or any other relevant attributes. It allows survey/civil engineering specific functions to use this point.
