New

1. New  Click this button to create a New drawing file. Ezicad will create a dwg file called drawing1.dwg ; the second time drawing2.dwg is created etc.

Open...

2. Open...  This menu item opens an existing drawing. It brings up a windows File Open dialog where you can select the appropriate folder and select the file.

Close

3. Close  This closes the open dwg and saves the dwg to disk. You are given the option of changing the file name. Particularly appropriate if the drawing was opened using the File New command. The dwg version defaults to the version when the file was opened; however you have the option of saving in a different version if desired. This is useful if your client only has an older version of Acad or equivalent.

Import LandXML

6. Import LandXML  This command imports the contents of a LandXML file. Please be aware there are a number of LandXML elements that don't readily convert to dwg entity's. This command has been optimized to read in LandXML cadastral data from the relevant authorities in Australia and New Zealand.

Export LandXML

7. Export LandXML  This command exports the dwg to a LandXML file. It is designed to export Cadastral data in LandXML format to relevant authorities in Australia and New Zealand. This command is yet to be finished.

Import...

8. Import...  This is to import 3D ACIS SAT files.The ODA library's support this operation so we have included it. The average Surveyor / Civil Engineer will probably not need this option.

Print...

9. Print...  Print/plot. Make sure page setup has been run first.

Print Preview

10. Print Preview  Displays a preview of what the final print will be like.

Print Setup...

11. Print Setup...  Click here to setup any printer specific options.

Create a Layout

12. Create a Layout  This creates a new layout. A layout is a paper view. The new layout  is displayed in the Pagetab list control .This plot can be further enhanced before printing/plotting.

Page Setup

13. Page Setup  When creating a plot or a layout this is the option that you need to do first. It sets up the printer being used, paper size etc and what part of the screen you are printing. Follow the "page setup" link for further details.

Send...

14. Send...  Please don't use this option at present. It is to email the drawing to a client.

1 MRU List

15. 1 MRU List  The last four drawings opened are displayed here. Clicking on an entry automatically opens the drawing in a new view.

Exit

16. Exit  Click here to exit Ezicad. You are prompted to save any open drawing files.
