Accessing on your mobile device

If your device supports a micro SD card then you need to read no further. Simply copy HTML file onto your card and take it with you.

For a cloud based solution we suggest Dropbox. We have tested it here and it does work. Obviously other options such as google drive will probably work as well.

Setting up Dropbox.

You install dropbox on your desktop computer at the office and all the mobile devices you intend to view the CDS export files. Please refer to dropbox.com for further details.

Workflow for Android

  • Create the HTML file on your desktop windows computer.
  • Copy and paste the file to the Dropbox icon.
  • Go to your mobile device, open up dropbox and simply click on the file. You should get an option to run using the "internet". Select this option. Infact we are really using a web browser that understands our file and we don't need to go near the internet once the file is downloaded from dropbox.
  • Run the browser as shown in the previous topic.

Workflow for Ipad/Ipaq

The Apple systems are more closed loop but it will still run.

  • Create the HTML file on your desktop windows computer.
  • Copy and paste the file to the Dropbox icon.
  • Go to your mobile device, open up dropbox and simply click on the file. It goes up with a view. Now on right side of the drop box folder there is an options icon. Click on it and select the "Copy Link" option.
  • Now open up your Safari or other browser and clear the address bar. Now do a long click into the address bar. Once you release your finger you should see apopup "paste" option come up. Click on Paste and then run the address.
  • The file is downloaded from the Cloud and is run as per other browsers and devices.

Please note:
At present the finger select on either point or text does not seem to work on Ipad system. Hopefully we will fix shortly.
